Actor Vivek Oberoi has announced a food campaign for more than 3,000 underprivileged children battling cancer.
In a video message, Vivek called on people to contribute wholeheartedly to the fund. He said a contribution of just Rs 1,000 could be spent on securing food for a whole month for a child with cancer.
Vivek is an ambassador for the Cancer Patients Aid Association, one of India’s oldest non-profit organizations dedicated to cancer treatment. The actor said he plans to reach out to more children in the next three months.
“Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA)’s 52-year-old holistic approach to cancer care has always looked beyond treatment,” Vivek said in the video.
“It is intended to save the lives of people who cannot afford treatment. Thousands of patients and their families have benefited from the CPAA’s food bank to date. We are building a fund to support this meal program for the next three months. We cannot do this alone and that is why we need your help. A small contribution of Rs 1,000 can provide food for one patient for a whole month.”
