Poker run to benefit Beaver Local graduate with cancer | News, Sports, Jobs

A poker run and benefit for Lindsey Brewer will be held on September 25 at Saddle Ridge Bar and Grill, Lincoln Highway 2097, Chester. All vehicles welcome. Registration is from 10am to 11:50am with first bike/car out at 12pm and last in at 5pm. Cost is $25 per rider, $10 for guests and includes dinner and prizes. Dinner for riders is served at 5:15 PM. Dinner for non-riders starts at 3:00 PM and costs $12. Menu includes ham or hot sausage, potatoes or ziti, green beans, and dessert. Carry out or eat in available. Craft and seller show, Chinese auction, raffle tickets.

Brewer graduated from Beaver Local in 2003. She has two children, 8 and 17. She has been battling ovarian cancer for a few years now. The cancer has spread to her spine, brain and other parts of her body. She has undergone extensive chemo and radiation. She is currently in UPMC under hospice care. The event raises money to help with her medical bills and needs for her children.
