On Monday, the Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 29 pediatric hospitalizations in the state.
The state health department said the pediatric hospitalization data in the situation updates is defined as patients with lab-confirmed COVID-19 and currently in a pediatric hospital bed, including NICU, PICU, newborn, daycare and observation beds.
This also includes patients who have both lab-confirmed COVID-19 and lab-confirmed flu. In terms of locations, OSDH currently reports statewide, but can say that since the pediatric hospital admissions are specially designated beds, they are mostly in metropolitan areas.
The Healthier Oklahoma Coalition meets at noon to discuss pediatric hospitalizations and vaccinations for those eligible to receive them.
