Lombard Junior Women’s Club donates books for pediatric patients at Elmhurst Hospital

On June 15, the Lombard Junior Women’s Club and its 2021 Lilac Court Queen and Princesses delivered two bins of new books to the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Foundation for pediatric patients at Elmhurst Hospital.

The donation was the result of a book drive coordinated by the Lombard Junior Women’s Club Education and Libraries Committee.

A total of 711 books were collected.

In addition to Elmhurst Hospital, books were donated to Outreach House, SCARCE and 10 Little Free Libraries in Lombard.

As a service project for the Lilac Princess program, the 2021 Lilac Court assisted with the collection and delivery of the books.

“We hope these books bring a little sunshine and joy, along with a love of reading for children, babies to teens, who are going through tough times,” said club member Susie Denz.
