Sunshine Corner Day Care is a place that lives up to its name.

A place of warmth, support and endless love, especially when one of you needs it most.

“This is to make a 13-year-old’s dream come true by fighting the disease she absolutely must,” says owner Carla Laurie.

Hailey Peelman, 13, has been battling leukemia for 6 years.

“She had a relapse on March 2,” said Haley’s mother Tara Wilson.

Wilson works at the Sunshine Corner, so everyone knows about Haley’s long-standing dream of swimming with dolphins in Hawaii.

“Make a Wish will be our target. She was pushed back and returned, we would go again, and COVID hit a week before we were supposed to leave,” Wilson said.

Instead of accepting that it wouldn’t happen, the crèches came up with a big plan.

Fundraising for Haley’s dream journey has begun.

People have fascinated a lot more people, even with virtual silent auctions, spaghetti dinners, GoFundMe, and even a game called flamingos en masse.

The goal was to reach $25,000, and the final total exceeded that by thousands of dollars.

Haley finally learned she was going to Hawaii earlier this month. Anyone who made it possible knew more than good news.

A family that dreamed in the sun and experienced a lot.

“This creates memories for the whole family that will last a lifetime, which is valuable,” Laurie said.
