Free Wigs for Kids hosting drive for children with hair loss

The initiative has grown since a local mom made it her mission to provide free wigs to children who have lost hair during cancer treatment. She said she was inspired by her daughter, who asked if she could make a wig for children.

LITHIA SPRINGS, d. – A Georgia mom’s initiative to support children lost to her in cancer treatment has grown since it began as a GoFundMe campaign.

Quilla Bohannon spoke to “Good Day Atlanta” in 2018 when she first launched “Free Wigs for Kids” in Lithia Springs. Bohannon gives free wigs to children with hair loss caused by cancer treatments.

She said the idea came from her daughter, who saw her make a wig for an adult. She asked her mother to make a wig for children with hair loss.

From there the idea was born.

“The amount of great feedback I’ve gotten on this and the support from people is beyond me,” said Bohannon.
