Cure 4 the Kids Foundation Announces “Save the Summer Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Registry” Event – Event Addresses Local Blood Shortage and Search to Save the Life of a Local Child in Need of Bone Marrow Match

LAS VEGAS – The Cure 4 The Kids Foundation (C4K), Nevada’s only outpatient pediatric cancer clinic, has announced that it will hold its “Save The Summer Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Registry” on Friday, July 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. event will take place at the C4K campus on One Breakthrough Way in Summerlin. The Vitalant Bloedmobiel will be located in front of the C4K building, near Town Center Drive and the 215 Beltway.

C4K recognizes the importance of having an adequate blood supply and a varied bone marrow record, especially as both have implications for the health of C4K patients. Many factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic, have drastically reduced the available blood supply throughout southern Nevada.

“We are excited to hold this event to collect life-saving blood for the community,” said Kat Salkanovic, director of patient experience at C4K. “In addition, we are appealing to the wider community of Las Vegas to come and register for the bone marrow registry so we can find a match for one of our patients in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant.”

Cure 4 The Kids Foundation works together with Be The Match Registry®. A major goal of the event is to find a bone marrow match for Adrian, who is battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia for the second time and urgently needs a bone marrow transplant. Cure 4 The Kids Foundation desperately calls on the Hispanic community to save Adrian’s life.

Anyone wishing to donate blood must first make an appointment by contacting Vitalant at with code “Cure4Kids” or call 877-258-4825.
