As pediatrician and parent, I’m troubled we still can’t immunize kids under 12 against covid

As a pediatrician and parent of a child too young to be vaccinated, I am disappointed that we are still waiting to be able to vaccinate children under 12, especially considering the scientific triumph of the coronavirus vaccines. In the past, the shortest period from conception of a vaccine to approval was four years. With unprecedented collaboration, innovation and investment across government, academia and the private sector, vaccines against Covid-19 were developed and deployed in line with the effort’s namesake: Operation Warp Speed.
