Argyle tractor pull set for cancer charities, high school scholarship

ARGYLE, NY (NEWS10) — Washington County residents — and basically anyone with a tractor — are invited to pull over for a good cause.

The 12th Annual Carl Lufkin Memorial Pull for a Cure was announced on Friday, scheduled for July 17 at 14 Lufkin Way in Argyle.

Tractor pullers are divided into classes for different vehicle types, from typical tractors to highly modified models. Trekking competitions will last all day.

All proceeds from the tractor pull will go to charities including The American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, The Cancer Research Center, and The Lufkin Legacy Foundation, which provides scholarships to high school students in the area. Admission is $10 per adult or $30 per car load.

Washington County Parks To Open Memorial Day Weekend

To date, the tractor pull has generated more than $165,000 for cancer-related charities. Last year’s event featured more than 250 garden tractors and 140 four-wheel drive farm tractors.

You can camp for free on site. Campers ask to arrive and set up Friday evening for the events.
