A pediatric asthma boot camp has been developed for pediatricians

DENVER, Co. – The National Jewish Health has developed a children’s asthma camp to teach pediatricians how to better treat and diagnose asthma.

Research showed that the program gave pediatricians a better understanding of asthma guidelines and resulted in fewer hospitalizations, emergency visits and reduced use of oral corticosteroids.

The program also reduced health care for children in rural areas. In addition, the number of pediatric patients doubled after training, with 90% receiving severe asthma assessments.
