50 PCG employees donate blood for children battling cancer

In an effort to save as many children’s lives as possible, at least 50 personnel from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Cavite have donated blood for the young patients battling cancer.

The PCG staff participated in the bloodletting held at Rosario Elementary School in Rosario, Cavite, on Friday, August 6.

The Coast Guard said the initiative was in response to rising demand for blood in the country, particularly at the Philippine Children’s Hospital that targets young patients battling cancer.

Last June, PCG staff also donated blood to help patients in need of blood transfusion amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
