It connects supportive civilians with deployed troops and offers a channel by which to communicate encouragement and express gratitude to those brave men and women serving in the United States Armed Forces.
Staffed fully by volunteers, AAUSS has helped thousands of soldiers find friendship, support, and a much loved and needed touch of home.
Adopt A US Soldier is active in over 170+ countries/ territories/ independent states with over 1,000,000 active volunteers supporting our troops by adopting a soldier. It is very easy to do and more rewarding than you can imagine, and you will show a soldier that you support them and cherish your freedom. We ask that you send your soldier a weekly letter or postcard for long term adoption because a letter is like a hug from home!!
Your support makes a difference!

Happy Thanksgiving From All of Our Volunteers at AAUSS
Take this time to enjoy time with family and friends.
Reach out to your service member and let them know you are thinking of them.
Holidays can be hard when away from family.
Thank you to all who serve or have served!
Veterans Day is a day where we honor all men and women who have served. There will be many celebrations all over. Take time today to write your service member and thank them for their service.
Last year, we collected Christmas cards for the troops. However, WE WILL NOT BE COLLECTING THEM THIS YEAR.
We know many enjoyed doing this and we were excited to collect more than 27 flat rate boxes last year.
So, if you are wanting to send cards this year, I would suggest you do a search online or even through Facebook. Two options did pop up, but we did not look at the programs in depth. A reminder is to always check the program out to make sure it is what you are looking for when sending cards to our troops. And, pay attention to deadlines from that organization.
We appreciate your continued support to our troops and being a part of AAUSS.
When shopping Amazon Prime Day this year, make sure to click Adopt a US Soldier with smile.amazon.org and a percent will come back to AAUSS to send care packages overseas.
Happy 13th Anniversary to AAUSS!
Yes, we are turning a year older and still growing strong. We thank our many supporters from around the United States and world for helping to share funny stories, their daily lives and care packages with our deployed troops.
We thank our service members for EVERYTHING. The sacrifices they give each day home or deployed.
Our mission: To honor active US military personnel, Adopt A US Soldier is a 501c3 volunteer-based organization that connects supportive civilians with deployed troops and offers a channel by which to communicate encouragement and express gratitude to the brave men and women serving our nation and the world.
Finally, we thank our donors who allow us to send additional items such as board games, sporting equipment, healthy snacks, hygiene items, reading items and much more.
Enjoy some words from our troops and thank you for helping AAUSS continue to grow!

“Thank you so much for the support, this is my first time signing up for this program and I am so happy! I am extremely grateful and can’t even put into words how wonderful everyone has been. This is a wonderful experience and I’m very excited to be able to participate in it. Thank you so much!”
“Thank you so much for the care packages! It was more than enough and my troops benefited a lot from the things that were sent. I am good to go on care packages as of now and probably for a while. You guys made our day and Holiday that much better. I Will be here for a year and looking forward to the joys of your support. Thank You again from the bottom of my heart!”

“Just wanted to give you feedback on my experience with Adopt a Soldier. The response has been amazing, and inspiring. To hear some of the sponsors stories, inspire me to hang in there and be strong. Very patriotic, and carry on our countries pride. The kind words and gestures are very appreciated by me and my troops. ”
